Elam Karabush (they/them) is a musician and composer whose work spans noise rock, experimental pop, concert dance, and internet radio. After dropping out of a BFA program in jazz saxophone at The New School, elam found their creative footing with the help of queer artists in NYC’s experimental dance scene. Since then they have worked collaboratively with artists across music, dance and interdisciplinary performance (Kyli Kleven, Greer Dworman, Mae May, Tess Dworman, june melton, YMA, Lichen Bouboushian), and played supporting roles as composer and performer (Kim Brandt, Gold Dime, Amelia Bande, devynn emory, Ste. Poka, jenno snyder). Spanning disparate realms, elam’s work is held together with vibrant curiosity, Intersectional Marxist-Feminism, DIY ethos and most importantly, trans joy.
